The story revolves around Idris, a disabled man in his seventies who lives alone in a lavish villa in Marrakech. He amassed a fortune exporting Moroccan tea abroad. After Idris's death, his sister Lamia reappears and expels all the servants from the villa. However, the servants' lives take another dramatic turn when Mahjoub, Idris's lawyer, arrives with a letter left by his client. In the letter, Idris bequeaths one-third of his assets to the servants, including the villa and the majority of shares in his company.
